BLANKENSHIP, “JEANETTE” (AGNES) – Of Flint Township, age 98, died Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Symphony Linden.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Deacon Gary Gallagher officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Catholic Charities of Genesee County or Whaley Children’s Center.
Visitation 11 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Agnes was born in Flint, Michigan on July 3, 1925, the daughter of the late “Ted” and Frances (Linck) Hultquist.
On November 15, 1947 she married Marvin Blankenship at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Rectory and they had been married for 50 years; he preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. Pius X since 1964, formerly a member of St. Luke’s.
Mrs. Blankenship retired from GM, after 35 years in the accounts payable department.
She enjoyed yardwork, caring for her home and dabbled in ceramics and macrame. Most of all she enjoyed her family and many friendships.
Surviving are son, Mark (Kathy) Blankenship;
daughter-in-law, Pat (John)Henige;
grandchildren, Lisa (Shawn) Blankenship, Matt (Shelby) Blankenship and Michelle Blankenship;
great-grandchildren, Layla Blankenship and Lucas Barnett;
many nieces and nephews; friends, Elaine, Debbie and Yvonne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, in 1997; son, Michael, in 1993; her parents and siblings.
