Marion M Weakley, 88, of Lancaster, formerly of Colonial Park, Harrisburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2013, at Willow Valley Retirement Community. She was the wife of Charles "Ted" Weakley.
She was born in Steelton, Pa on September 23, 1924, a daughter of the late Lester A and Catherine L (Baker) Hoffer. She was preceded in death by her brother David L Hoffer.
Marion retired from Town & Country Day School, where she worked as the secretary for many years. She was a member of Progress Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg. She served her church as a deacon, sang in the choir and was active in Bible School.
In addition to her beloved husband, Ted, she is survived by her 2 sons, Charles "Ted" Weakley, III & his wife Jane; and David A Weakley & his wife Toni, all of Harrisburg; her daughter Cheri M Weakley & her husband Lou Caperoon of Willow Street, Pa; 4 grandsons & 1 great-grandson; her brother, Lee A Hoffer & his wife Lora of Hummelstown; and her 3 sisters, Fern E Hartman & Goldie H Boyer both of Harrisburg, and Berdella H Shreiner & her husband Jerry of Mechanicsburg.
Viewing will be held Friday, May 17, 2013 from 12-1 pm at Hetrick-Bitner Funeral Home, Harrisburg. The funeral service will begin at 1pm with Pastor Patrick P. Wirick officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
