Mario A. Schwartzhoff, 57, of Davenport, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Manor Care, Davenport, following an extended illness. Keeping with his wishes cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial gathering will be at a later date. Memorials in his honor may be made to Smile Train PO Box 96231 Washington, D.C. 20090-6231
Mario Adolph Schwartzhoff was born January 14, 1953 in Spring Grove, MN, a son of Victor T. and Madelyn L. (Mahr) Schwartzhoff. He was united in marriage to Carroll Steele on June 20, 1986 in Davenport.
Prior to his retirement, Mario had worked as a shipping and receiving clerk for Buesing’s Automotive in Davenport for 26 years.
He had a great sense of humor and was the toughest son of a gun you ever met. If you knew him then you also knew that he had a heart of gold and loved his grandchildren dearly.
Survivors include his daughter Jerri (Matthew) Henderson, Cambridge, IL; step- son Clarence Steele, Geneseo; grandchildren Dakota, Dalton, Nolan and Charlotte; sisters Winnie Pell, Bordentown, NJ, Kay (Dick) Bashore, Davenport, Marsha (John) Havemann, Milan, IL, Maureen (David) Williams, Southfield, MI, Ann Roomiany, Boise, ID, and Kim Schwartzhoff, Alpha, NJ; brothers Walter (Ning) Schwartzhoff, Davenport, Jeri Schwartzhoff, Davenport, and Jan (Jane) Schwartzhoff, Preston, IA; and special friends and helpers Lindsey and Sally Currant, Davenport.
