George Gary Pobocik, 74, of Grand Blanc, MI, died peacefully at home Saturday, January 20, 2024. Gary was born on January 28, 1949, to Anita (Dougherty) and George Pobocik. A lifelong resident of Grand Blanc, Gary graduated from Grand Blanc high school before joining the U.S. Marine Corps. Following his military service, Gary began his law enforcement career, serving the Swartz Creek, Grand Blanc Township, Ishpeming, and Grand Blanc City police departments. Proudly, Gary was the first canine officer, handler, and trainer in the history of the Grand Blanc Township police department, and he continued as a canine officer in the Grand Blanc City department as well.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents George and Anita, sister Julie, and son George Gary Jr. Gary is survived by his wife Leann, son David (wife Theresa), stepchildren Amanda (Dan), Travis (Kayla), grandchildren Jenny, David Jr., Marc, and Michael, great grandchildren Quinn, Sean, Trey, Naomi, and Carter, siblings Patricia Delugo, Marge Brennan, Bill Pobocik, Rick Pobicik, Mary Kay Pobocik, and many
cousins, nieces, and nephews. |
