Fred Ramsey, Jr. 83, of Boone, CO, passed away April 15, 2011. Fred was born Dec 30, 1927 in Sturgeon Missouri to Fred Sr. and Urilla Ramsey, the third of seven children. In 1931 the family moved to Boone, CO. where he lived the remainder of his life. Fred attended Boone schools and graduated from Boone Highschool in 1947. While attending school he met and fell in love with Velda Jean Rogers. Fred and Velda married June 1, 1948 and they enjoyed 62 years together. In 1987 he retired from the CF&I. Fred and Velda enjoyed traveling and Fred was an avid fisherman. Preceded in death by his parents; son in law, Richard Walby; and sister, Margret Meier. Survived by his wife, Velda, of 62 years; daughter, Pam Walby, of Pueblo; son, Fred (Mary) Ramsey, of Pueblo; grandchildren, Tamara (Mike) Loughrey, Misty (Toby) Bethel, of Florence, Dan (Crystal) Ramsey of Pueblo, Mindy Borton, of Pueblo; brothers, Sam (JoAnn) Ramsey, Frank Ramsey, and Jim (Jackie) Ramsey; sisters, Virginia (Gus) Serracino, and Diana (Ted) Massey; brother in law, Bill Meier; 11 great grandchildren, Steve and Grant Loughrey, Brandon, Bryli and Cody Bethel, Courtney Ramsey, Rhiannon Borton, Brittany Wolfis, CheyAnne Taylor, and Dyllan Ramsey; also numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be 10:00 am, Wed, April 20, 2011 at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society PO Box 22718, Oklahoma, 73123-1718 or Sangre de Cristo Hospice 1207 Pueblo blvd Way, Pueblo, CO, 81005.
