Age: 52
Community: Flint Township, MI

Craig Albert Ratliff, 52, of Flint Township, MI, passed from this earth into the presence of the Lord on 10/20/2020 at 8:57 p.m. at Genesys Hospital, Grand Blanc, MI.
He was born November 16, 1967, in Flint, Michigan, to Albert and Margaret "Ann" Ratliff. He devoted his life to the service of the community as a Sergeant for the Flint Township Fire Department for 32 years; before retiring from a work-related injury on 06/03/2020. He married his best friend Kimberly Kassuba on July 13, 1991, after spending several years corresponding as pen pals. Craig and Kim raised 3 wonderful children together.
Craig had a passion for helping others and loved to volunteer his time and talents to serve anyone in need. It was not uncommon for him to pick up hitchhikers or homeless people and minister to them in any way he could. He was an avid fan of Southern Gospel music and spent 6 years working with the Calvarymen Quartet, along with his youngest son Riley, driving the bus and running sound. He was known to remark that there was, "no other music, just Southern Gospel music." His assortment of albums would rival any collector. He spent most of his time outdoors enjoying creation. He loved exploring, hiking, camping, biking, and spent hundreds of hours swimming and diving in the Great Lakes. Petoskey stone collecting and polishing recently became his favorite pastime. Craig was an exceptionally hard worker, mechanic, designer, engineer, architect, and skilled carpenter. He looked forward to going to work on the next project and would labor relentlessly until he had completed the job to his perfected satisfaction. He recently replaced the shed flooring while battling his recent illness, using a design of levers to raise the building from the ground. Craig had an amazing giftedness and ability to build or fix anything he put his hands to (except velcro). He was a patient teacher to anyone willing to learn. He loved children and always gravitated to the kids table at family events. "Uncle Craig" always had a magic trick, lame joke, or a fun idea to entertain adults and children alike.
Craig loved God with all his heart and strived to reflect Christ in how he lived his life. He taught his children to walk in the ways of the Lord and led by example. He surrendered his life at an early age in Sunday School class, and never once looked back. His devotion to his family, his firm belief in God, and his absolute knowledge of his eternity in heaven, gave him the strength and peace to endure to the end.
Craig is preceded in death by his Father, Albert Ratliff, his daughter Charity, and his son Craig Ratliff Jr. (C.J.). He is survived by Kim, his loving wife of 29 years; Children, Riley Matthew and Cami Elizabeth; Mother, Margaret Ann (Hilliker); and His siblings, Cheryl Rogers, Steve, and Randy Ratliff.
