James A. Cavanah, 93, of Aledo, Il died Thursday May5, 2011 at Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg, Il. Services are 11:00 AM Monday at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial is in the Aledo cemetery where graveside Military Services will be conducted. Visitation is one hour prior to services Monday at Fippingers where memorials may be left to the United Methodist Church in Aledo. Online condolences can be made at www.fippingerfuneralhome.com
He was born June 26, 1917 in Keytesville, MO a son of Archie and Myrtle McAdam Cavanah. He attended the local schools in Salisbury, MO and married Betty J. Morey February 28, 1942 in Kahoka, MO. She died April 9, 1988.
Jim was employed as an interior and exterior decorator retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Aledo United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by 2 sons, James (Judy) Cavanah of Waverly, IA, Dan(Terri) Cavanah of Galesburg, IL, 5 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, 1 brother Lloyd of Columbia, MO and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and 1 brother Allen.
