Lokken, Vivian Marie of Flushing, age 93, died Sunday, April 6, 2025, peacefully at her home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2025, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Pastor Tyge Zucker will officiate. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Friday at the church until the time of the service at 11 a.m. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzhemier’s Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Vivian was born in Flint, Michigan on September 27, 1931, the daughter of Harlow and Elsie (Radtke) Eller. She lived in Flushing throughout her childhood and graduated from Flushing High School in 1949. She married Basil Lokken on April 17, 1954. They built their home in Flushing in 1957, where she resided until her death. Basil preceded her in death on November 1, 1968. After raising her children, she returned to work and was a dedicated employee for 15 years in the dietary department at St. Joseph Hospital. Her work ethic was impeccable and she was given an award for never missing a day of work. Vivian was a voracious reader and passed her love of reading to her children. She enjoyed being outside, riding her lawnmower and tending to her yard. Her neighbors will remember her for religiously “walking around the block “ with her friend and neighbor, Ellen. Vivian was a founding and faithful member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She was a generous host, always making people feel welcome. Her greatest joy was her family.
Vivian is survived by her children, Jeffery and wife Jill Lokken, David and wife Kimberly Lokken, Darcy and husband William Dobinski; grandchildren, Brian, Jimmy (Melissa), Lindsey (Ed), Jessica (Matt), Michael(Zac), Jon(Ciana); great-grandchildren, Bo, Logan, Ashton, Elliott, Bella, Carter; sister, Shirley and husband Don Raymond; sister-in-law, Carol Jean Eller; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and four brothers, Glenn, Gaylord, Floyd, and Harold “Bill”.
