Sharon was born in Flint, Michigan, on October 3, 1938, the daughter of the late Alfred and Laura (DuFord) Climie. After high school, Sharon worked at Buick Engineering as a secretary. On April 30, 1960, she married the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Miller, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Flint. When they started their family, she enjoyed her time as a stay-at-home mom to her four children. Sharon was also a passionate award-winning Avon representative for 11 years which allowed her to become involved in her community. God was the constant, guiding presence in Sharon’s life. Her deep Catholic faith got her through many obstacles throughout the years. Sharon’s devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Our Blessed Mother, and especially St. Therese the Little Flower was profound. She loved God and his saints, and everyone who knew her felt that. After receiving a heart transplant 23 years ago from the University of Michigan Hospital, Sharon lived each day with gratitude and determination.

She found happiness camping with her family and tending to her garden and flowers. As a talented cook and baker, her home was often filled with the comforting aromas of homemade meals and baked goods.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Richard “Dick” Miller.

She is survived by her four children, Shari (Scott) Bennett of Grand Blanc Township; Marci (Brian) Glynn of Commerce Township; Jeffrey (Laurie) Miller of Grand Blanc; and Michelle LaMay of Grand Blanc. She will also be deeply missed by her seven grandchildren, Ashley (Michael) Theodore; Trevor (Juliana) Bennett; Jason Glynn; Bradley Miller (fiancé Kendall Carlson); Nicole Glynn; Ryan Miller (fiancé Heaven Kline); and Garrett Schiller. Sharon also leaves behind many life-long friends, her beloved cousin Mary, nieces, and nephews, and countless friends at Abbey Park. Her constant shadow—her cat, Bill—will miss her dearly.

The family would like to especially thank the staff and medical team at Abbey Park in Grand Blanc Township. They took such wonderful care of Sharon. A special heartfelt thank you to her caregiver, Leslie, and hospice nurse, Sabrina, who treated her with an abundance of love, care, and dignity.

If desired, donations in Sharon’s memory can be made to the American Heart Association.
