It is with a heavy heart that we share that our 94 year old mother, Mary "Delores" Cox, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2026, following a short battle with Stage 4 liver and bone cancer. Mary was the mother of 10 children, and she was surrounded by several of her children when she passed. Her love for children, however, extended far beyond our immediate family.
Beginning in 1963, our parents began sponsoring children through PIME, choosing to support the same number of children as they had of their own. As our family grew, so did the number of children they sponsored. Ultimately, they supported 10 children in India at a time. Over the course of 63 years, their generosity and commitment helped hundreds of children and families.
This was an important part of our mother's life and a reflection of the compassion, faith, and love she shared so freely with others.

Mary is survived by 9 of her 10 children; 21 grandchildren; and 33 great grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Cox; son, James Cox; great-grandson, Michael "Bo" Peters; her parents; siblings; and extended family members.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, September 18, 2026, at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. The Rosary will begin at 10:00 am.
