Thompson, Jack D. - of Birch Run, age 90, died Saturday, September 25, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Thursday, September 30, 2021, at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. The family will receive visitors Wednesday, September 29, 2021, from 5PM-8PM, and 10AM -11AM before the service. Burial is to follow at Taymouth Township's Cook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the family for future designation or a charity of your choice.
Jack was born November 17, 1930, to the late Earnest and Laura (Demona) Thompson. He joined the United States Army and served in the Korean war. Jack later married Shirley Hamling, she preceded him in death on September 19, 1998. He owned and operated Thompson’s Heating, where he worked most of his life. Jack was simple and independent, he was one of 14 children, he loved his family and was a proud grandfather.
Surviving are: Children: Randy (Patti) Hamling, Terry (Peggy) Thompson, Pam McKee, Michael (Carrie) Thompson, Joy (Dirk) Bentley; Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; Siblings, and many nieces and nephews.
