Dale Edwin Zick passed away on March 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
A celebration of Dale's life will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 12:00PM, at Graham Community Church, located at 7320 West Beard Road, Perry, Michigan, 48872.
Dale was born on November 23, 1955, in Bad Axe, Michigan, to Wilbert and Evelyn Zick. He graduated from Port Hope High School and furthered his education by attending courses at Michigan State University. On November 26, 1981, Dale married the love of his life at Graham Church. He was a faithful and loving husband to his wife, Wendy, for 44 wonderful years. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and faith. He was a proud father to his three sons, being a dad and grandpa was one of his greatest joys. He deeply loved his grandchildren, and each of them held a special place in his heart. Dale was an avid farmer who grew up in Port Hope, Michigan, and later took over his family farm in 2000. Farming was more than just work to him. It was part of who he was. In later years, he moved to Owosso to be closer to his children and grandchildren, and he treasured that time with them.
Dale was one of the kindest men you could ever meet. He didn’t know a stranger and loved talking with people. He had a special way of making others feel comfortable, and it didn’t take long before he knew their story. People were drawn to him because he was genuine, caring, and easy to talk to. He found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. He loved his 1963 Oliver tractor, collecting rocks, and working with his hands. He was truly a “Mr. Fix-it,” and there was nothing he couldn’t make or fix. He also loved participating in 4-H fairs with his children, teaching them all he knew and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Above all, Dale was a man of deep and steady Christian faith. He trusted fully in the Lord and found comfort in God’s promises. Even through illness, his faith never wavered. He often spoke about heaven with peace and certainty, and his family finds comfort knowing he is now with his Savior.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Wendy Zick; his three sons, Rodney (Kasie) Zick, Joshua (Shelby) Zick, and Samuel (Hannah Lynne) Zick; his beloved grandchildren, Addison Zick, Olivia Fladung, Emmie Fladung, Robert Zick, Quincy Zick, Zelia Zick, Rebecca Zick, and Bell'Ana Rose Zick; his siblings, Kenneth (Nancy) Zick, Linda Kelley, Dennis (Ann) Zick, Dean Zick, and Janet Arntz; many nieces, nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Evelyn Zick; and his grandson, Ezekiel Zick. Dale will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and hospital staff at Memorial Hospital in Owosso for the care, compassion, and kindness they showed Dale in his final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dale's name to St. Jude.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness…” -2 Timothy 4:7-8 (NKJV)
