Bicsok, Grant Andrew of Durand, formerly of Flushing, age 23, died Sunday, August 3, 2025. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Anthony Brooks will officiate. Burial will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2025, at Rossell Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Robert Catholic Church or to the Genesee County Humane Society.
Grant was born in Petoskey, Michigan on April 2, 2002, the son of Linda Bonk and Edward Bicsok. Grant attended St. Robert Catholic School and was a graduate of Flushing High School, class of 2021, where he was voted the class clown and attended the Genesee Career Institute. After graduation, Grant attended the Hobart Institute of Welding Technology in Ohio. He was employed by Truck and Trailer Specialties, Inc. He loved working with his hands and helping others out. Grant was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, shooting skeet, and most recently, beekeeping. Although not a pro at any sport, he enjoyed trying them all, including football and baseball. He loved spending his summers up north by Petoskey and Elk Rapids. Grant was full of life and happiness. He gave the best bear hugs and had the biggest and best laugh. He was most happy being with his family and friends.
Grant is survived by his mother, Linda Bonk; father, Edward Bicsok; siblings, Kristin (Eric Ray) Bonk, Karianne and husband Andrew Richardson and their daughter, Charlotte, Patrick McDonald, Brendan McDonald, Annelise Bicsok, Jacob Malczynski; significant other, Elizabeth Pierce; grandmother, Sr. Evelyn Bonk; aunts and uncles, Marilynne and John Fattal, Debbie Nathan, Joe, Sr. Diane, Daniel, Fr. John, Michael, Sr. Patricia, Donald, Thomas Bonk, Sheryl and Matt Pieknik, Susan and Brian Reed, Maria and Jim Holser; several cousins; dear friends, Liam, Hayden, Tyler, Logan; several role models, including Mike Carlyon, Nate Richardson, Tom Freiheit and Quint Zellar; and his beloved dogs, Moose and Gator; cat, Indie; and his chickens and bees. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jerry Bonk and his paternal grandparents, Ed and Betty Bicsok.
