MCCANN, Gilbert “Gil” L. – of Flint, formerly, Florida and Arizona, age 68, died Monday, March 18, 2019 at his residence. A memorial service will be held in honor of Gil 4PM, Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 1PM until the time of service at 4PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Reverence Hospice.

Gil was born August 2, 1950 in Flint, Michigan to the late John and Mary Ellen (Page) McCann. He attended Beecher High School. Gil also attended Mott Community College and Yavapai Community College in Arizona. He married Vicki Richert on November 29, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Gil was the owner and operator of the Flint School of Karate for 8 years. He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Gil’s motorcycle buddies nicknamed him “Thumper”. He had a talent for custom painting motorcycles and hot rods. Gil’s main love and passion was metal sculpting. He created many art pieces that have been showcased across the country. Please visit www.gilbertmccann.com to see all of his pieces. Aside from creating metal sculptures, Gil loved music. He played drums in his band, Groove Therapy. He was also an incredible singer. Gil enjoyed traveling, target shooting, cowboy reenactment, and teaching children how to play drums. Most of all, Gil loved spending time with his beloved wife and family.

Surviving are: Wife, Vicki McCann; Children: Gil (Noell) McCann II; Christa Susack, and Melissa (Raul) McCann-Holguin; Niece, Mary (John) Borden; Grandchildren: Adam Ezel, Veronica Gronemeyer, Lilly McCann, Olivia McCann, Kendall Susack, Preston Follo, Stephen (Crystal) Larkin, and Brianna Sierra; Brother, John (Gayanne) McCann; Sister, Karen McCann, and many other nieces, nephews and dear family members. He was also preceded in death by: Brother, Don McCann, and sister, Gladys Jean Hartley.
