BARBEE, Norman L. – of Montrose, age 79 died Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, November 9, 2017 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home, Montrose Chapel. Pastor Robert Leming officiating. Burial at Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 4-8 PM and on Thursday from 11 AM until time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to the family for future designation.
Norman was born September 12, 1938 in Jackson County, Ohio to the late William and Edna Barbee. He grew up in Ohio and has live in the Montrose area since 1964. On December 4, 2013 he married Donna Panks in Flushing, Michigan. He was the owner and operator of Norman Barbee Construction. He also worked for Bronner’s in Frankenmuth and trained new employees in the shipping department. Norman enjoyed fishing, feeding the birds, word searchs and loved to be outdoors. However, his greatest joy in life was his family and grandchildren especially during the holidays.
Surviving are: Wife, Donna; Children: Victoria Barbee, Stephen Barbee; Grandchildren: Andrew Barbee, Ashleigh (Robert) Tomasino, JoAnna Barbee; Great Grandchildren: Jake Tomasino, Paislee Tomasino, Madalynn Tomasino; Sisters: Martha Gorrell, Janice Leonard; and many nieces and nephews; Dear Friends: Don Swart and Arnie Petzold.
