Tietz, Roberta E., of Flushing, age 98, died Thursday, April 3, 2025, at her home. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Rossell Funeral Home, 307 E Main Street, Flushing, with Pastor Paul Pfeuffer officiating. The Nurses Honor Guard of Genesee County will be presenting the Nightingale Tribute at 12:45 PM on Tuesday. Visitation will be held from 11AM-1PM. Burial will follow at Bendle Cemetery.
Roberta was born in Flint, Michigan on November 26, 1926, the daughter of the late Robert and Arlean (Coupland) Deneen. She was united in marriage to John Kregg in 1949, until his passing in 1973. Roberta later married Bernard Tietz and they celebrated over 40 years together. He preceded her in death in 2015. Roberta began her nursing career with the United States Army Nurse Corps. She continued working as a Registered Nurse from 1949-1992, eventually earning the title of Assistant Director of Nursing. Roberta was a lifelong member of the Flushing VFW Women’s Auxiliary #5666 and McLaren Auxiliary. In her free time, she was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles. Roberta also enjoyed traveling with her husband, Ben.
Roberta is survived by her son, John (Diane) Kregg of Armada; step-daughter, Loretta (Jack) Tufts of Hubbard Lake; grandson, David Kregg of Flushing; granddaughter, Sarah (Travis) Duchesneau of Spring Lake, Tennessee and many more loved grandchildren; brother, James T. (Judy) Deneen of Kennewick, Washington; sister, Charolotte (Rob) Millensifer of Boise, Idaho; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Kregg and Ben Tietz; daughter, Janice; sister, Patricia; and siblings, Daniel, Bill, Fred and Carole.
Donations in Roberta’s memory are suggested to the Flushing Area Senior Center. |
