KROETSCH, Leon – of Flint, age 88, passed away April 22, 2017 at McLaren – Flint. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, G-5199 Richfield Rd., Flint; Rev. Fr. Bob McGraw celebrant. Burial, with Military Honors, will be in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1-4 & 6-8 PM at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Thursday at church. A Memorial Service, under the auspices of Third Degree Knights of Columbus Council #4090 and Fourth Degree Assembly #0523 of Davison, will be held 7 PM on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
Leon was born in Argyle, MI on August 14, 1928, son of the late Charles and Hilda (Hergott) Kroetsch. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Leon worked for GM and retired in 1984. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Flint, Davison VFW Post #4087 and Davison K of C Post #4090.
Leon is survived by his sons Dennis (Nancy) and Michael; 3 grandchildren, Anita, Leon Adam and Kurt Paul; 3 siblings, Willard (Shirley), Kathleen Rich; and Jerome. He was preceded in death by wife, Georgine; grandson, Michael; great-grandson, Landen Botos.
