Jackie was born in Durand, Michigan on February 12, 1947, the daughter of the late Asa and Leona (Sawyer) Root. She married the love of her life, Raymond Bolt on June 8, 1968. Jackie cherished her time at the family cabin up north and at their trailer in Manistee. After retiring, she spent her winters in Florida, where she embraced the sunshine and relaxation. She loved going on cruises with her husband, creating lasting memories. An avid crafter, Jackie was always delighted in sharing her projects with friends and family. She also found joy in playing bingo and, most of all, spending time with her beloved children and grandchildren. Over the years, she was involved with Flushing VFW, Knight of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, Bowling at Colonial lanes and many other activities. Jackie was always quick to volunteer whenever help was needed.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ray; children, Bruce (Mary) of Macomb MI, Tricia Schuster ( Mike) of Rochester Hills, MI and Scott (Melisea) of Port Huron, MI; grandchildren, Lauren, Brian, Paige, Evan, Ashley, Makenna and bonus grandkids, Samantha and Danielle (Mary); siblings, Keith (Debbie) Root, Gayle (Jim) Hadley) and Janet Wetherell (Rod).
Jackie was loved by many, including her close friends and many cousins she grew up with.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Asa and June Root; and brother, Gary Root.
The family would like to thank the 11th floor nurses at McLaren Hospital who went above and beyond to comfort Jackie and her family during her lengthy stay.
Donations in Jackie’s memory are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
