CICALO, Joe, Jr. – of Pflugerville, TX, formerly of Davison, MI, age 81, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019. A Funeral Liturgy will be held 12 PM Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. John M. Machiorlatti officiating. Interment immediately following the service in St. John Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 12-4 PM & 5-8 PM Tuesday, October 15, 2019 and 11 AM-12 PM Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed 5:30 PM Tuesday, October 15, 2019 followed by a Memorial Service under the auspices of the Davison Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree Council #4090. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation or St. John Catholic Cemetery, in Joe’s memory.
Joe was born in Flint, MI on June 23, 1938, son of the late Joseph and Helen (Vavra) Cicala. He married Janet Tatro on June 10, 1961 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and she preceded him in death on November 12, 2002. Joe was a General Forman at GM Truck and Bus retiring in 1993 after 35+ years of service. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Davison Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree Council #4090. Joe enjoyed many hobbies including model trains, automobiles, gun collecting, coin collecting, traveling, hockey, football, golfing, bowling, boating and fishing.
Joe is survived by his son, Joseph (Kim) Cicalo; 2 grandchildren, Sarah and Adam; great-grandchild, Terelle; 2 brothers-in-law, Gary Tatro and Tony Bierek; 4 sisters-in-law, Jan Tatro, Kathy Bierek, Mary Cicalo and Marilyn Taylor; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Helen Cicala; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Eleanor Tatro; brother, Johnny Cicalo and brother-in-law, Wayne Tatro.
