FOLEY, Harold C. – Of Burton, age 80, died Thursday, February 27, 2014 at home.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2014
Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Mr. Philip Baldwin officiating.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery with a military graveside service under the auspices of VFW Post #822 Honor Guard
Those desiring may make contributions to the University of Michigan Hospital for cancer research.
Harold was born in Smithville, Arkansas on January 5, 1934, the son of Clyde and Emma (Young) Foley.
On October 26, 1957 he married Sharon Allen.
Harold proudly served in the U.S. Army.
He attended Calvary United Methodist Church and was a member of the Burton Eagles and UAW Local 1292.
Mr. Foley was employed by General Motors Fisher Body Grand Blanc for 35 years, retiring in 1991. He also owned Foley's Maple Lawn Company for over 35 years.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon;
son, Harlan and wife Karen of Southampton, New York;
four grandchildren, David Foley and Harrison Foley of New York, Hannah and husband Marus Spater of Germany and Connor Foley of Grand Blanc;
two sisters, Mary Root of Birch Run and Shirley Kelley of Arkansas;
sister-in-law, Anna Foley of Flint;
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his three children, Alan, Russell and Bonnita; his parents; sister, Joyce Hill; three brothers, W.H. "Bill", Leon and Charles Foley.
