Carrie Beth Simek (Miller)
January 5, 1948 – September 10, 2025
Carrie Beth Simek, 77, of Linden, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her residence with family on September 10, 2025.
Carrie was born on January 5, 1948, in Flint, Michigan, to Clarence and Charlotte Miller. On July 7, 1967, she married the love of her life, Marty Simek, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, and together they built a life centered around faith, family, and friendships.
A dedicated mother and homemaker, Carrie later shared her warmth and joy with others as a Toy Specialist at Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland. Her greatest role, however, was being at the heart of her grandchildren’s lives. She poured herself into their most impressionable years, creating cherished memories and becoming their biggest champion—the “President & CEO” of their adventures. To her grandchildren, she was not only a grandmother but a source of constant love, laughter, and presence.
Carrie’s faith guided her. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Parish and formerly belonged to St. Charles & Helena Catholic Parish in Clio. She also found joy in her friendships through the Red Hat Society and the Clio Senior Citizen Center.
She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and joy for life. Carrie loved her family deeply, adored her grandchildren, and found happiness in conversation, music, and dancing. She was truly young at heart and left an imprint on everyone she met.
She is survived by:
• Her beloved husband, Marty Simek
• Daughter Carol Malenich and son-in-law Jim; grandsons Jacob and Cole
• Son Jeff Simek and girlfriend Colleen Glodich
• Daughter Jennifer Eltringham and son-in-law Brian; grandchildren Haley, Madison, and Dru
• Close brothers- and sisters-in-law, along with many nieces and nephews
Carrie was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Charlotte Miller, and her siblings Alan Miller, Donna Groves, Bill Miller, and Vern Miller.
