ASA, Morris “Ace” - Of Grand Blanc, age 83, died Friday, February 28, 2014 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held 11am Saturday, March 22, 2014
at Hopewell General Baptist Church, 5162 North Belsay Road, Flint. Family will receive friends 10am Saturday until the time of the service at the church.
Cremation has taken place and cremains will be interred at Evergreen Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Hopewell General Baptist Church.
Morris was born in Dexter, Missouri on December 4, 1930, the son of Jeff and Clara (Trent) Asa. On December 8, 1948, he married the love of his life, Evelyn Miley in Arkansas. Morris attended Hopewell General Baptist Church. He was a toolmaker at General Motors for 36 years. Morris enjoyed woodworking and loved going to Traverse City. He was a lifetime member of the Grand Blanc Masons. His great-grandchildren were the joy of his life and his family was his legacy.
Surviving are wife, Evelyn;
daughters, Judy (Mike) Haynes of Grand Blanc and Linda Asa of Grand Blanc;
grandchildren, Jeff (Vanessa) Haynes, Tiffany (Jeremy) Fortin and Becky (Steffan Vanfredenberg) Corbin;
great-granddaughters, Kennedy, Brooke, Makenzie and Morgan;
sister, Mildred (Ed) West;
brother-in-law, Leroy Green; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Welch, Rachel (Bud) Evans and Carolyn Malin;
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Onita Green, brothers-in-law, Doyle Welch, Ron Malin, Clarence Miley and Buck Miley.
