On Tuesday evening, in her home, on January 4, 2022, Elsie Reilly, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at age 92.
Elsie was born on November 9, 1929 in Fenton, Michigan to Stewart and Jenny (Hatt) Ruple. Elsie graduated in 1948 from Flint Central High School where she served in the Civil Air Patrol. She worked for Gulf Oil Distributors, Hoover Vacuum Cleaners and retired from Atherton Schools. Throughout her life, Elsie was an avid bowler, golfer, crafter, and bird watcher. Many family and friends marveled and enjoyed Elsie’s beautiful dresses and fantastic cakes she made. She married Lyle Diebel and had two children, Susan and Michael. She married Henry Reilly, and raised his daughter Terry and had three sons together: Phillip, Thomas, and Allen.
Elsie is preceded in death by her son Michael, her mother Jenny, her father Stewart, her sister Lucy, and her husband Henry.
She is survived by her brother Stewart, five children, nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren whose photos she displayed proudly throughout her home for all to see: Susan Diebel (child: Heather), Terry Besser (husband Dennis; children: Amy and Brad); Phillip (wife Theresa; children: Claire, Ian, Sarah, and Phillip); Thomas (wife Angela; children: Matthew and Allisan); and Allen. Many in-laws, nieces, nephews, family and friends too numerous to list but not forgotten.
A memorial service will be held on May 14, 2022 at 3:00 pm with one hour of visitation prior to the service at Hill Funeral Home - 11723 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan.
