McKAY, Carol Jean - Age 80, of Linden, died Tuesday, November 17, 2020. A private funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, November 20, 2020 at Sharp Funeral Homes; Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. (Live streaming of the service will be available November 20, 2020 at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.) Deacon Ron Kenney officiating. Public visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to the Loose Senior Citizens Center, 707 N. Bridge St., Linden, MI 48451.
Carol was born October 20, 1940 in Flint, the daughter of Hugh H. and Louise J. (Sargent) Scully. She was a 1958 graduate of Linden High School. She married Douglas D. McKay August 15, 1959 in Linden and he preceded her in death April 22, 2019. She retired in 1998 as a bus driver from the Linden Community Schools. Carol was a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed the beach, cruises, and shuffleboard.
Surviving are: her children, Melissa Palazzollo (John Nelson) of Byron, Penny Barnett (Jerry) of Georgia, and Joseph McKay (Mary) of North Carolina; 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Terry Michael Scully. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
