ROSA, José A. – Of Burton, age 92, died Friday, November 24, 2017 at The Pines of Goodrich.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Jim Britt officiating.
Private family burial in All Saints Cemetery in Waterford.
Those desiring may make contributions to Calvary United Methodist Church.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
José was born in Hatillo, Puerto Rico on September 19, 1925, the son of the late José and Belen (Almodovar) Rosa and was a resident of Michigan since 1973.
He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacology from The University of Puerto Rico.
He served in the U.S. Army for 2 years during World War II.
Surviving are his four children, José (Tony) and wife Linda of Ames, Iowa, Manuel and wife Amy of Davison, Alice and husband Victor Smith of Brighton, David and wife Toni Ann of Clarkston;
7 grandchildren, Aaron and wife Kirsten, Jason and wife Chrissy, Rachel and husband Corey Gilbert, Tim, Sara Smith, Lucy and Eva;
great-grandchildren Avery, Isabella, Maxwell, Naia, Christian and Darla Gilbert.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evangelina, on November 2, 2001.
