MYERS, Albert K. – Of Swartz Creek, age 70, died Thursday, July 24, 2014 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held 3pm Monday, July 28, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Leukemia Foundation.
Visitation 12-8pm Sunday and 11am Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Albert was born in Canton, Ohio on April 25, 1944, and was raised by the late Finley and wife Rose Harbert. Al graduated from Ontario High School in OH, Class of 1962 and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles #629. Al enjoyed watching sports, especially the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions. He retired from General Motors Buick Division in 2001 after 33.8 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #599.
Surviving are children, Dana L. Chapman of Flint, Alan C. Myers and fiancée Jeanette Blackledge of Grand Blanc, Dawn M. Myers and fiancé Matthew Tageson of Swartz Creek;
grandchildren, Christopher L. Knuckles of Paragould Arkansas and Dillyn B. Knuckles of Flint;
great-grandson, Brian Alexander Lee of Paragould, Arkansas;
brothers, Dick and wife Ellen Myers of Ontario, Ohio, Ken and wife Sharon Myers of Davison;
sister, Loretta and husband Stan Conrad of Canton, Ohio;
Eva and husband Tim McKerchie of Flint;
former wife and mother of his children, NormaJean Myers of Burton;
companion, Jackie McKeen;
several nieces and nephews.
