HAMILTON, Judith Lynne – of Genesee, age 69, passed away November 15, 2017 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be held at 5 PM Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Les Smith officiating. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1–8 PM Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Flint Junior Golf Association.
Judy was born in Grand Rapids, MI on August 3, 1948, daughter of the late William and Virginia (Haire) Zylstra. She graduated from Michigan State University where she also played golf and then earned her Master’s Degree from Central Michigan University. She married Bill Hamilton in August of 1974. Judy taught at Flint Central High School for 30 years and coached volleyball, basketball and golf. She volunteered at Avalon Hospice for 16 years, Flint Junior Golf Association as well as taught CPR classes for the American Red Cross for over 30 years. Judy participated in many International bicycling trips with The Dutch Connection. She was a church pianist, biked and walked marathons and was an accomplished golfer.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Virginia Riggs; son, Michael Hamilton; grandchildren, Preslie Riggs, Josiah Hamilton, DanLisa Hamilton, Daniel Williams and Britney Washington; sister, Sandra DeVries; brother, William Zylstra; many nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hamilton and step-daughter, Lisa Hamilton. Thank you to our special friends and our team at Comfort Keepers.
