BRENDER, Verena “Biggi” Birgit – of Davison, Michigan, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at New Beginnings Missionary Church, 2232 E. Mt. Morris Rd., Mt. Verena was born on March 14, 1945, in Neudenau, Germany, the beloved daughter of the late Hermann and Helene (Bougers) Anschuetz. She later married Thomas M. Brender in 1980, and together they shared many years until his passing on September 11, 2020. Verena grew up in Germany before coming to the United States in 1964, returned to Germany in 1972, and ultimately made her home once again in the United States in 1980. Verena was fluent in both German and English, proud of her German heritage and she carried her culture with her throughout her life. Having experienced the trials of post-WWII Germany, Verena was a woman of remarkable strength and endured many hardships throughout her life. Though she often carried a tough exterior, those who knew her best understood the depth of her kindness, love, and compassion. She possessed a strong work ethic and a deep sense of personal responsibility, qualities that defined her as a devoted and dedicated mother. Fiercely protective of her family, she was a steadfast source of support and strength. In her later years, Verena found peace and faith, accepting Christ as her Lord and Savior three years ago - an important and meaningful chapter in her life. Verena also had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, and found great joy in their companionship. She was an avid reader with a particular interest in history and biographies, and she delighted in the quiet challenge of crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors, walking and tending to her garden. Verena will be remembered for her resilience, her unwavering devotion to her family, and the quiet but powerful love she carried within her heart. Her character and values will live on in her children.
Verena is survived by her loving children; Nicole (Walter “Duke”) White, Mike (Mackie) Bruce; grandchildren: Grant (Samantha) Pringle, Stephanie Pringle, Michael Driver, Christopher Driver, Mack Bruce, Lauren McCrimmon, Marcus Bruce, Matthew McCrimmon, and Samuel Carpenter; step-grandchildren: Rusty White, Rachel (Nick) Blackstock, and Samuel (Megan) White; great grandchildren: Gavin, Isla May Pringle, Benjamin White, Anna, Levi, and John Blackstock; many other loving family members and friends.
