Sordyl, Phyllis of Flint, age 89, died Monday, December 18, 2017, at Caretel Inns of Linden. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Phyllis was born in Saginaw, Michigan on April 17, 1928, the daughter of Casimir and Sophia (Konefko) Shustock. She married Robert Joseph Sordyl on October 19, 1946. He preceded her in death on October 30, 1991. Phyllis retired from St. Joseph Hospital in Flint. She loved knitting, especially scarves and hats and donating them to those in need. Spending time making her flower garden look spectacular was a favorite pass time. Her greatest joy was her family and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and often showed her love through food, making sure no one left hungry.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Robert and wife Janice Sordyl; daughter, Karen and husband Jeff Monetta; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Darr and by her sister, Marcy Andrews.
