KIMSEL, Gilbert L. of Saginaw, died Friday, January 22, 2016 at St. Mary's of Saginaw. He was 84 years of age.
Gil was born March 30, 1931 in Flint to the late Charles and Lilly (Huthnance) Kimsel. He lived in Saginaw the past 12 years coming from Birch Run. Gil served in the US Marine Corps from January 1952 to January 1954. Mr. Kimsel retired from Buick with 49 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #599. He enjoyed fishing, hunting traveling and talking about history and sports.
Surviving are: wife, Ruth; Children: Sandra (Joe) Warda of Birch Run, Gregg (Karen) Kimsel of Bellaire, Terri Beyersdorf, Cindy Beyersdorf, Todd (Julie) Beyersdorf, all of Hemlock; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by: his first wife, Alice in 2002; Daughter, Debbie Wheeler in 2007; Grandson, Ryan Palmer in 2000; and a son-in-law, Robert Palmer Sr. in 1998.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. Rev. Ted McCulloch officiating. Burial to follow in West Vienna Cemetery with military honors. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-8PM, Monday from 11AM-8PM and on Tuesday from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM. Contributions may be made to the Old Newsboys.
