Gary Clyde Nixon, Sr.
Age 74 of Brant, Michigan. Passed away at home quietly with his family around him on April 28, 2015, a beautiful spring morning.
Gary owned and operated Nixon’s Grocery in Brant, Michigan since December 26, 1967, the legacy of which will be continued by Gary, Jr.
Gary was born in Howell, Michigan July 31, 1940, son of Clyde and Helen Nixon (Utter). On October 29, 1960, he and Fauna Ann Walker were married. He was a member of the Brady Center Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include his wife Fauna, two sons and two daughters, Gary, Jr., Kim, Mike and Julie and Karla. Grandchildren: Chenille and Joe, Brandon and Rachelle, Lucas and Shelby, Kristel and Derrick, Trevor and Kourtney and Erin. Great Grandchildren: Shelby, Brayln and Cash. Sisters: Carol Gasper, Sally (Larry) Gotham and Janice (David) Shepherd.
He was predeceased by his parents Clyde and Helen Nixon, brother Richard Nixon (predeceased in 1934), in-laws Bud and Katie Walker, brother-in-law Dick Gasper, brother and sister-in-law Bob and Iris Nixon and grandson Matt Anderson.
He will be dearly missed by his employees who respected and loved him, many friends and especially his family.
Gary requested a visitation which will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Misiuk Funeral Home, 202 S. Front Street, Chesaning, Michigan from 10:00AM to 8:00PM open visitation. A memorial service is being planned for Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the Brady Center Wesleyan Church, Oakley at 2:00 PM.
