LORENZ, James “Jim” David – of Flint, MI, age 79, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. Cremation has taken place. A Private Memorial Service will be held. Inurnment will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Medical Team Hospice, 4400 South Saginaw Street, Suite 1300 A, Flint, MI 48507 or Calvary Presbyterian Church, 6100 Richfield Road, Flint, MI 48506, in memory of Jim.
Jim was born in Flint, MI on October 2, 1941, son of the late David and Lydia (Jurk) Lorenz. He was a graduate of Flint Northern High School Class of 1959. Jim married Mary Jo Brandon on August 11, 1962 in Mt. Morris, MI. He retired as an electrician from Delco in 1995 after 30 years of service. Jim was a long-time member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed camping, attending classic car shows, spending time with his grandchildren and had an endless sense of humor.
Jim is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Lorenz; 2 children, Jeff (Michelle) Lorenz and Nancy (Chris) Gnagi; 5 grandchildren, Eric (Vanessa) Gnagi, Adam Gnagi, Lydia Lorenz, Kayla Lorenz and Kent (Emma) Lorenz; 2 great-granddaughters, Nora and Ruby; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Lydia Lorenz.
