PRATT, John – of Lapeer, age 91, passed away August 11, 2015 at Stonegate Health Campus, Lapeer. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, August 17, 2015 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 212 Center St., Otisville; Rev. Fr. Steve Anderson celebrant. Burial with Military Honors will be in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Monday at the church. A Memorial Service under the auspices of the Knight of Columbus 3rd and 4th Degree will be held at 6 PM Sunday, followed by a Rosary being prayed at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Catholic Charities of Flint.
John was born in Stratford, Ontario, Canada on February 18, 1924, son of the late Alfred and Margaret (Hallwood) Pratt. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Church, Knights of Columbus, National Democratic Party and longtime member of the Eagles in Caseville, MI. John served in World War II as an Army Sergeant/Paratrooper and Squad Leader. He worked at AC Spark Plug as a Truck Driver for 42 years, Penske Semi Driver for 10 years for a total of 52 years of service for General Motors.
John is survived by daughter, Therese (Bill) Paivarinta; sons, Patrick Pratt, Timothy (Elizabeth) Pratt and John Pratt; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; several nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by wife, Adeline Pratt; wife, Jaunita (Spencer) Pratt; daughters, Debrah Pratt and Marcia Pratt; sons, John Pratt, Jr., Michael Pratt and grandson, Michael Pratt, Jr.
