SNELL, Gerald “Jerry” – Of Flint, age 81, passed away Friday, April 2, 2021.
Gerald was born in Flint, Michigan on August 29, 1939, the son of the late Abner B. and Zana (Hendershott) Smith. Jerry was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who had a heart of gold and was loved and cherished by all who knew him. He was also a man of many talents. He enjoyed golf, fishing, duck hunting, painting and wood carving. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Spencer and Sydney. Jerry worked in the meat business for 55 years. He owned and operated Jerry’s Meats in Flushing, retiring in 2010.
Surviving are wife, Patricia;
Son, Michael and partner Derrick of Chicago;
Son, Douglas of West Bloomfield;
Daughter-in-law, Shaunda;
grandchildren, Spencer and Sydney of Bloomfield Hills;
and sisters-in-law, Ellen and Sandy.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Arnold Smith, Bill Smith and Robert Chappell.
Cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
