Tenbusch, Viola Marie of Flushing, age 91, died Monday, April 7, 2025, at her home. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2025, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Brian Lenz will officiate. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Thursday at the church until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Robert Catholic Church.
Viola was born in Harbor Beach, Michigan on September 29, 1933, the daughter of Joseph and Anastasia (Lorkowski) Essenmacher. She married Kenneth Tenbusch on September 29, 1951, in Harbor Beach. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2007. Viola was a faithful member of St. Robert Catholic Church. She was a School Bus Driver for Flushing Community Schools for over 30 years where she especially enjoyed taking kids on field trips and to their sporting events. Viola enjoyed gardening and tending to her yard and home, always keeping busy. She loved having the grandchildren visit her home where they could share watermelon on the porch, ride bikes, go sledding and do chalk art in the driveway. Viola was a talented baker, and her grandchildren were often by her side helping. She loved playing euchre.
Viola is survived by her children, Betty and husband Al Dzurak, Fred and wife Judy Tenbusch, Mary Hartman; grandchildren, Rebecca, Lisa, Keith, Sarah, Danny, Rick, Joe, Meagan, Taylor, Grace, Chelsea; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband; sons, Richard, Ed, John; and her parents.
