Smith, Albert Martin, age 79, of Fenton, went to be with his Lord on January 5, 2026. He was a long time member of Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church. Al was a beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend. He was born on February 19, 1946. He married Nikki A. Sargent on July 10,1965 and they were richly blessed with more than sixty years of marriage, which he loved to tell others about. Caring for his family was his top priority. He also enjoyed working in the yard, garage, and doing projects around the house. Al was a pipe fitter at Chevrolet Metal Fab in Flint and retired in 2005. After retirement, he happily became a snowbird, spending his winters in St. Cloud, Florida. He is survived by wife, Nikki, daughter, Kimberly Clark of Linden, son Andy (Tracy) Smith of Grand Blanc, son-in-law Russell Clark of Fenton, grandchildren Andrew Smith, Anthony Griffin, Spencer (Lexy) Clark, Lauren Clark, Emily Hittle and Graham Hittle, great-granddaughter, Ariel, very special sister Jean (Jim) Nichols, brother Lee Young, brother-in-law Murrel (Arlene) Sargent, many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Al was preceded in death by his mother, Dora Young, and his father, Bud Young. A funeral service for Al will be held at Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church, 10235 White Lake Road in Fenton, at 11 AM on Monday, January 12, 2026. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton from 2-7 PM Sunday, January 11; and from 10 AM until the time of service Monday at the church.
