GACH, Walter A. – Of Flint, age 73. Our beloved Walter passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015 with his family at his side.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2015 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton,
Father Roy Horning officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cancer Foundation.
Visitation 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Scripture Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Cremation will take place following the Mass.
Mr. Gach will be at the church from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the Mass.
Walter was born in Spangler, PA on March 26, 1942.
Walter married the love of his life, AnnaMarie (Holonich) Gach and they enjoyed 52 wonderful years of marriage.
Walter enjoyed 18 years of retirement, after working at General Motors Metal Fab. He was a lover of life, especially the outdoors. Walter was passionate about gardening, fishing, hunting and golf. His very favorite time was spent with family.
Walter will be sadly missed by daughters and sons-in-law, Anita (Doug) Harvey and RoseMarie (Vince) Sicilia;
grandchildren, Mitchell, Carly and Amanda Harvey, Michael and Victor Sicilia, all of Rochester, MI;
sisters, Mary Vopolensky of AK,
Irene (Jim) Boyd of W.V,
Agnes Schifler of AZ,
Catherine Barnes of MI,
Theresa (Richard) Jarvis of PA,
Joanne (Fred) Weiland of PA;
brothers, John (Elinor) Gach of MI,
Thomas (Janet) of PA,
Frank (MaryAnn) Gach of PA and
Paul Gach of PA;
mother-in-law, Bertha Holonich of MD;
sisters-in-law, Kathryn Clark of MD,
Kathleen Shipley of Canada and Barbara Woodward of PA;
many loving nieces, nephews and lifelong friend, David (Clara) Wargo.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Susan; parents, Walter and Josephine and brother, Joseph.
Special thanks to Reverence Hospice nurses, Dr. Szyarto; neighbors and nephews, Robert and Joseph Gach.
