REINHART, Donald J. Sr. – of Montrose, age 84, died Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Genesys Regional Medical Center of Grand Blanc. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM Monday, December 21, 2015 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Montrose. Rev. Fr. Gordon Reigle officiating. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose on Sunday from 2-8PM and at the church on Monday from 10AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. A Knights of Columbus memorial will be held at 7PM Sunday evening at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Don was born August 16, 1931 in Flint, Michigan to the late John and Florence (Rasmussen) Reinhart. He was a 1949 graduate of St. Michaels Catholic High School. Don married Phyllis Pappenheimer on June 30, 1951 at St. Michaels Catholic Church. Mr. Reinhart Retired from Chevy V8 Engine in 1992 with 45 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #659. He was also a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and the Montrose Knights of Columbus. Don enjoyed motorcycles, boating and woodworking. He loved to watch his children and grandchildren play sports and was a big fan of Montrose Rams Football. Above all, Don loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; they were all his pride and joy.
Surviving are: Wife, Phyllis Reinhart of Montrose; Children: Gary (Sharon) Reinhart of Flushing, Karen (Charles) Wenzlick-Eickholt of Chesaning, Don (Jan) Reinhart Jr. of Frankenmuth, Dan (Luanne) Reinhart of Clio, David Reinhart of Flint, Dennis (Carla) Reinhart of Montrose and Cindy (Russ) Wenzlick of Sanford; 20 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; Special friend, Albert Rush; Several nieces, nephews and other loving family & friends.
