Elizabeth graduated from St. Paul Catholic School. She attended Mott Community College, where she studied to obtain her journeyman's card while working in the skilled trades at General Motors V-8 plant in Flint, Michigan, where she became the first female Millwright at General Motors. She took great pride in her education and the skills she developed through hard work and determination. She went on to build a respected career as a skilled trade Millwright at General Motors.
In her free time, Elizabeth enjoyed spending time on the water at her home in Bradenton, Florida. Her love for animals began as a young girl growing up on the Fisher's farm in Owosso, Michigan. It was later displayed in the numerous animals she raised, including Arabian horses, show dogs, and most recently, angora rabbits, as she took great pride in caring for them. She also enjoyed spending time with her spinning wheel, where she spun many different fibers with patience and skill. These interests brought her peace and fulfillment, and they reflected her appreciation for craftsmanship, nature, and the beauty found in everyday life.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Patricia) Zemla and Christi (Michael) Jones, as well as her four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She treasured her family deeply and found great joy in their accomplishments, their company, and the many memories they shared together. Elizabeth was the daughter of Frank and Mary (Bocek) Fisher, who preceded her in death.
Her memory will remain a blessing to her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to support the establishment of a dedicated memorial at the Shiawassee County Fairgrounds.
