Julia Ann “Julie” Kress, age 70, of Riverdale, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Pine River Health Care in St. Louis. She was born January 9, 1947 in Alma the daughter of Willard and Beulah (Welch) Jenison. She was married to Jim Kress on January 9, 1964 in Elwell and together for nearly 50 years, they have been running Kress and Sons Drywall. She has helped in all areas of the business from clerical work to helping on jobs with the dirty work.
Julie enjoyed doing all crafts, especially painting, knitting, cross stitching, pottery and card making. She enjoyed collecting Precious Moments, Dicken’s Village houses, angels and Cabbage Patch Kids over the years. She also ran Julie’s Avon and Gifts for many years.
Julie is survived by her husband, Jim; three sons, Troy (Lori Feltman) Kress, Christopher Kress and Brad (Jennifer) Kress all of Riverdale; five grandchildren, Taven Kress, Reese Kress, Emma (Jake) Davis, Douglas Campbell, Janna Richards.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, LeRoy, Wilbur, Leslie, Charlie and Billy Jenison and a sister, Margie Mortenson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 11 am at the Seville Community Church of God with Pastor George Showers officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 14th from 4-8 pm at Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Riverdale.
