MATTE, Mary Elizabeth - Of Flint, age 97, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025, McLaren-Flint.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11am Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Our Lady of Lebanon, 4133 Calkins Road, Flint. Father Pierre T. Bassil officiating.
Visitation 10am Saturday at church until the time of the Mass.
Cremation will take place following the Mass.
Mary was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 1, 1928, the daughter of the late John and Cecila (Ehmet) Wild. Mary had many years teaching in the parochial schools in the Flint area, St. Pius X, Holy Family in Grand Blanc and St. Marys in Swartz Creek. She taught hundreds of children and had a very positive effect on their lives. Mary was also an active member and past president of the Alter Society at Our Lady of Lebanon and spent 7 years as a volunteer with Bay Valley Hospice. Mary also volunteered at McLaren Hospital.
Mary was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl.
Surviving are brother, John E. Wild of Cincinnati, Ohio;
brother-in-law, Greg and wife, Rainelle;
and special nieces and nephews.
