Stecco, Michael John of Flushing, age 87, died Saturday, June 14, 2025, at his home. A memorial service will be 12 Noon Friday, June 20, 2025, at Rossell Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home until the time of the service at 12 Noon.
Michael was born in Flint, Michigan on June 2, 1938, the son of John and Josephine (Oginsky) Stecco. He married Lorna Snell on January 26, 1957, at St. Pius Catholic Church in Flint. Michael worked for AC Spark Plug for six years. He then began working for the Canadian National Railway, retiring after 32 years of service. Michael loved classic cars. He enjoyed doing clay models and sketches of cars, even owning his own 1957 Nash Ambassador and 1963 Pontiac Bonneville. He was a voracious reader and an avid coin collector. Michael enjoyed being in nature, whether it was feeding the wildlife in his yard or walking 10 miles every day. Together with his wife, they enjoyed travelling to Costa Rica. Michael was a lover of chocolate and will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor.
Michael is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lorna; daughter, Michelle Stecco; brother, Larry and wife Susan Stecco; dear friend, Billy Ford; and his beloved pets; his dog, Pepper; cats, Baddoo, and Sassy; and parrot, Lindy. He was preceded in death by his sons, Dennis and Phillip Stecco; brother, Darrell Stecco; and sister, Darlene Stecco.
