GUELDE, William E. – of Flint, age 84, passed away March 9, 2011 at Genesys Health Park. A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Atherton United Methodist Church, 4010 Lippincott Blvd., Burton; Pastor Bruce L. Billing officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be 11 AM-8 PM Friday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. On Saturday, there will be one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Atherton United Methodist Church.
William was born in Flint, MI on February 18, 1927, son of the late William and Ethel (Bird) Guelde. He graduated from Kearsley High School in 1945 and was a World War II Veteran. William married Joyce Nelson on January 18, 1947 in Flint, MI. He was a member of Atherton United Methodist Church where he served on the Board of Trustees. William loved guns, woodworking and spending time with his family. He retired from Buick in 1982 after 36 ½ years of service.
William is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Sheryl (Jimmie) Owens; son, Rex W. Guelde; daughter, Toni (Larry) Bartman; daughter, Marcia (Tom) Madaras; grandchildren, Michael (Kristina) Owens, Brian (fiancé, Lori) Owens, Deanna (Tom) Ruhstorfer, Kari (Travis) Prescott, Kati (Kris) Allinger, Ashley and Danny Madaras; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, James Guelde; sister, Virginia Smith; many nieces and nephews.
