CASE, Elmont D. "Monty" – of Clio, age 74, died Thursday, October 2, 2014 at
McLaren of Flint. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Tuesday,
October 7, 2014 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Flint. Rev. Fr. Thomas M.
Firestone officiating. Military Honors will be provided. Cremation will follow.
Friends may visit at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Monday from
12PM until 9PM, a Rosary will be prayed at 7PM. Mr. Case will lie in state at the
church on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Contributions
may be made to St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
Monty was born on November 25, 1939 in Traverse City, Michigan to the late Elmo
and Helen (Petroskey) Case. He graduated from St. John Vianney High School in
1958. Monty married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Benedict on September 12,
1959 at St. John Vianney Church in Flint. They enjoyed 55 years together. Mr. Case
was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Monty was a supervisor for GM and retired with 30 years
seniority. He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. He coached
middle school basketball at Holy Redeemer Catholic School from 1973 until 1982.
Monty was an avid Notre Dame fan and enjoyed golfing and fishing. Above all, he
enjoyed spending time with his family and was a wonderful husband, father,
grandfather and great grandfather.
Surviving are: wife, Nancy Case of Clio, 5 children, Greg (Saleanna) Case of
Millington, Michael (Tamberly) Case of Flint, Alicia Borrow of Flint, Eric
(Michele) Case of Flint, Mark (Christine) Case of Howell; 11 grandchildren; 3 great
grandchildren; many other loving family members and friends. Monty was preceded
in death by his brother, Gary Case. Please sign our guest book or share an online
