KAPHENGST, Mildred “Millie” Louise (Willobee) – of Lapeer, MI, age 85, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2026. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an animal charity of your choice, in Millie’s memory.
Millie was born in Oxford, MI on November 5, 1940, daughter of the late Glenwood and Martha (Craig) Willobee. She married Louis “Lou” Kaphengst on June 21, 1958 and he preceded her in death on December 26, 2021.
Millie is survived by her loving daughter, Connie (Tim) Elkins; 2 grandchildren, Andrew (Kate) Elkins and Ally (Travis) Ulberg; great-grandchild, Parker Elkins; sister, Betty Hardy; 3 nephews, John Hardy, Jeff Hardy and James Hardy; sister-in-law, Minnie Batoha; many other loving family members and dear friends.
The family would like to extend a very sincere thank you to the nurses and staff of The Cottages of Davison for their professional and compassionate care of Millie.
