RIPKA, David Samuel – of Clio, age 75, died peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 3PM on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses – 2368 W. Dodge Rd., in Clio. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family for future designation.
David was born on December 29, 1949, in Flint, to the late Edward and Della (Szymanski) Ripka. He graduated from Flint Northwestern High School with the class of 1968 and attended the Minnesota School of Business and Lansing Community College. David honorably served in the United States Army. On August 12, 1972, he became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and for 53 years, he was a court reporter for Ripka, Boroski & Associates. He shared many wonderful years with Marilyn Thompson, and together they raised two beautiful daughters. David enjoyed being outdoors golfing or playing shuffleboard, but he especially enjoyed playing the Aggravation marbles board game with family. He was a kindhearted, generous man who always put others before himself and was known for his witty sense of humor. David was a bright light that lit up even the dullest of days. He was a wonderful man who can never be replaced, and he will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
David is forever remembered by: Children: Chana Yakovov (Ripka) and Allison Ripka; Grandchildren: Xavier Ripka-Kemelek and Galya Yakovov; Brother, Dan (Becky) Ripka; Niece, Jessica (Russell) Porteous; Granddogs: Nala and Little Man; Many cousins, extended family, and friends. David was preceded in death by: Parents, Edward and Della; Several aunts, uncles, and cousins. |
