MOSIER, Matthew Charles – of Burton, MI, age 68, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 1 PM Friday, December 9, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Thursday, December 8, 2022 and 12-1 PM Friday, December 9, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, www.aspca.org, in Matthew’s memory.

Matthew was born in El Paso, TX on October 2, 1954, son of Dolores (Lancto) Mosier and the late The Honorable Judge Charles Bernard Mosier. He was a graduate of Holy Rosary High School Class of 1972, where his nickname was “66”, a reference to his football number. Matthew worked in retail management in the music records and auto industries. As a manager of Recordland and Platinum Cat Records, he met many of the famous recording artists of the 1970’s and early 1980’s. Matthew shared many fond memories of his time spent with the artists from Grand Funk Railroad. He shared his love of music with his daughter, Callie. Matthew also managed Suski Chevrolet among other car dealerships. He also loved the University of Michigan football and auto racing. Matthew owned many race cars and helped Hall of Fame racers, some of the biggest names in short track racing in Michigan. You would find him at the local auto race tracks every single weekend. Both of Matthew’s sons continued with the tradition of auto racing and they both race to this day. Matthew also served as a past president of the Moose Lodge #2426 in Birch Run, MI. He loved his family, especially his children, grandchildren and his feline companions. Matthew shared his optimistic outlook with his children often telling them, “This too shall pass.”

Matthew is survived by 4 children, Melissa Tate, Matthew (Angela) Mosier, Michael (Kelsey) Mosier and Callie Mosier; 7 grandchildren, Alexis Garza, Mateo (Erin) Rosales, Alexxis Stiers, Markell Tate, Na’Kia Tate, Jayla Tate and Charisma Toney; 2 great-grandchildren, Mateo Rosales and Paulita Rosales; mother, Dolores Mosier; brother, Mark E. Mosier; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his father, The Honorable Judge Charles Bernard Mosier and grandson, Kyle Burleigh.
