O'KEEFE, Joseph D. “Don” - Of Flushing, age 87, died Friday, February 27, 2015 at his residence.
Memorial service will be held 11am Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Reverend Harold K. Polk Jr. officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation 4-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Joseph “Don” was born in Detroit, on May 16, 1927, the son of the late Joseph and Euphemia Jean (Armstrong) O’Keefe. Don served in the United States Navy during World War II. He belonged to The Flint Elks #222 and American Legion Post #151. On January 5, 1974, he married Carol Diedrick in Flint. Don worked for AC Spark Plug retiring in 1984. He also enjoyed going to casinos.
Surviving are wife, Carol;
son, Dennis and wife Linda;
grandson, Derek and wife Michelle;
great-grandchildren, Deven and Solina;
sister, Patricia Findlater;
aunt, Dorothy Armstrong;
brother-in-law, Jack Kostka;
and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Catherine and brother, William.
