On Sunday, December 6th, 2020, Dorothy (Dolly) Ducharme, loving mother of four, passed away at the age of 91. She was born on July 16th, 1929, to Albert and Albertine Rocheleau. On June 12th, 1948 she married the love of her life, Francis (Duke) Ducharme in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. They quickly immigrated to the United States, where they raised three daughters; Patty, Debbie and Chrissy and one son, Curt in Wayne, Michigan.
To put it simply, Dorothy embraced life. She was a kind, generous and fun loving wife, daughter, mother, sister, friend, Mimi (grandmother), aunt, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed her family, traveling, golfing, bowling, card playing (especially Euchre), sewing, and being a Holiday, Florida snowbird. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Wayne, Michigan. Her kindness and volunteerism was evident there and at the Garden City Knights of Columbus. Dorothy and Duke loved adventure and travel. In addition to their Florida life with family and friends, they visited and vacationed extensively in Ontario with siblings, nieces, nephews and friends, and also traveled from Mexico to Alaska in the van they converted together. She had a quick wit, infectious laugh and a kind and compassionate spirit.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Duke, sisters Evelyn and Ida, and brother George. She is survived by two sisters, Pat and Shirley, and also by her four children, Patty Pink (Tom), Debbie Tatchin (Dave), Curt (Cindy) and Chris Morris (Steve). She has ten grandchildren, Michael, William, Steve Jr., Danielle, Jeff, Matthew (Abbee), Brian (Jamie), Chelsea, Alison (Jarrod) and Jordan. There are ten great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Eric, Donovan, Sabrina, Samantha, Madelynn, Stevie, Frances, Mackenzie and Stephen Owen III, and three great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in the Spring or Summer.
