Elizabeth Dorothy Freeman (Howd) “Aunt Dot” passed away on August 14, 2026. She was born March 9, 1950 to Howard and Dorothy Howd. She grew up in Flint, MI with her siblings and cared for them tremendously throughout their lives. She married Larry in 1969 and gave birth to Tina in 1970. She was the most caring and devoted wife and mother. She also loved her granddaughter Jessica and great-granddaughter Savanna very dearly and was an amazing grandmother.
Elizabeth spent her time caring for others and had many hobbies throughout her lifetime. She enjoyed crafting, quilting, crocheting, thrifting, shopping, and celebrating holidays. She loved baking cookies for her friends and family and attended functions regularly to which she could bring homemade food like mac and cheese, among other goodies. Her love for the holidays was apparent to everyone. She had outfits, earrings, and more decorations for everyone to enjoy than you could ever imagine. The whole neighborhood knew her house, especially for Christmas. She enjoyed sending out cards to everyone for their birthdays, it gave her such joy to see other people happy. She also enjoyed gambling, frequenting the casinos and buying scratch-off’s.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents and many of her siblings. She is survived by her immediate family, her brother Howard, and multiple sister and brother in-laws.
Funeral service will be held 1pm, Friday, August 21, 2026 at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, MI
Dr. Max B. Hayden officiating.
Visitation 1-8pm Thursday and 12pm Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
There will then be a precession to the cemetery where we will have a short prayer.
